1911 Mammoth Ivory Grips (30C) - Sold 9.21.23
Unique and rich markings on this lovely pair of mammoth ivory grips, there is a fine brown hairline crack on the upper left side of the panel on the right, it was in the tusk, is stabilized and will not change. The glare on the tops is from the lights showing the great polish on these grips.
Made from genuine woolly mammoth/mastodon ivory from Alaska, and the Yukon(all legal to ship world wide with the exceptions of New York and New Jersey). This ivory is at least 10,000 years old and we use only the best quality to insure that they are as tough as modern elephant ivory but, with the magic that only extinct prehistoric furry elephant ivory has.
Non-structural fractures, fissures, watermarks and varying coloration are typical of mammoth ivory, just a part of their natural beauty and uniqueness. Our ivory grips have been stabilized and are guaranteed against breakage for life!
