Made from genuine pre-1972 walrus ivory available with Magwell, Standard or Bobtail cut. This pair of grips has some natural hairline cracks typical of walrus bark.
Handmade from our very limited stock of vintage ivory tusks from walrus that died before 1972. This ivory predates the Marine Mammal Protection Act and is legal for non-natives (us) to work with. We buy this ivory when available from individuals, aging collectors and inheritors in the lower 48 states, one or two tusks at a time; it does not come from Alaska.
Non-structural cracks and fissures are common in walrus ivory and part of their natural beauty and uniqueness. All of our ivory grips have been stabilized and are guaranteed against breakage for life!
We buy tusks from individuals that contact us from the lower 48 states (not Alaska) that own or have inherited them and are certain that the age predates the 1972 marine Mammal Protection Act, we have limited stock.
