Walrus Mask Skull

Description

WALRUS MASK SKULL a handsome mask/nose plate/half skull with 19" tusks.  The tusks are nicely curved and touch at the tips and are aesthetically very pleasing, it looks like a sabertooth.  The bone was coated with shellac years ago and is dark, this is a pre 1972 specimen.  The hardwood plaque has a polished brass plaque the shape of Alaska and a nice polished piece of beautiful Alaskan coral mounted to it.  Price is $2,200 and includes shipping.

All the walrus masks we sell are from the 1900’s and are being reintroduced into the market, they are decades old, always purchased in the lower 48 from previous owners. We do not buy any of these in Alaska where they are still being hunted for food. Some of ours are pre 1972 and others have native Alaskan scrimshaw, both are legal to buy and sell. No one is hunting walrus to supply us with these; they are all “recycled”.
