Smith and Wesson J-frame Walrus Ivory Grips 02
Made from Pre-1972 Walrus Ivory - Smith & Wesson J frame grips round butt with lovely age cracks and colors (non structural). The higher color outer surface is the “bark” or cementum layer, the buttery color ivory is the ivory. Complete with screw, medallions can be installed for $15 extra. These grips have a lifetime guaranteed against breakage-on a working gun. The upper part of these grips are slightly thicker, but only to preserve the beautiful colors of the outer layer.
Handmade from our very limited stock of vintage ivory tusks from walrus that died before 1972. This ivory predates the Marine Mammal Protection Act and is legal for non-natives (us) to work with. We buy this ivory when available from individuals, aging collectors and inheritors in the lower 48 states, one or two tusks at a time; it does not come from Alaska.
US sales only! To comply with state laws we no longer ship any ivory to New Jersey addresses and no mammoth ivory (only walrus ivory) to New York addresses.
