1911 Bone Pistol Grips
MAGWELL, STANDARD OR BOBTAIL
All Magwell grips can be turned into Standard or Bobtail grips and Standard grips can be turned into Bobtails (at no additional cost).
SLIMLINE OPTION: We can modify most bone grips into slimline grips which requires the removal of bone from the top side, this will only change the look of the grips if there are nice cracks or texture that are occasionally seen on the full thickness grips. This surface character will be removed or diminished so slimming is not recommended for grips like that. You will need slimline bushings on your gun for slimline grips to work, those bushings can be easily installed with a slotted screwdriver on most 1911's, slimline grips require slimline screws. You can also change your slimline bushings to full size if you see a pair of grips you like that cannot be thinned without changing the look.
BONE: 1911 Grips made from the shinbones of big old bulls. We make these grips here in house and each pair is unique and beautiful. They will age very nicely, if you make a habit of rubbing your skin oil on them.
STELLER'S SEA COW & WALRUS OOSIK & JAWBONE: Made from Extinct Steller Sea Cow, Walrus jaw bone and Oosik (walrus penile bone!) that were excavated from the ancient Yupik Eskimo village Kukuluk (coo coo' look) and traditional hunting camp sites (dating up to 6,000 years old) on St. Lawrence island in the Bering Sea. Steller's Sea Cow was “discovered” by Georg Steller in 1741 in the Bering Sea and were extinct by the 1770's.
