Mammoth Tusk Section with hollow recovered in the Yukon, this piece is 4 1/2” - 5 1/4" tall, the top measurement is 2 1/2" x 3" bottom measurement is 2 5/8" x 3 1/8".  It has one layer pronounced on the top filled on the bottom. Layers are commonly found in mammoth ivory.  The outside surface has been buffed and has a beautiful caramel color and glow, the inside is a creamy ivory color.  This is the butt end of the tusk. The inside hollow goes down to 1/2" from the bottom of the tusk section. Good for scrimshaw possible slabbing for jewelry and other small projects. Beautiful tan bark with creamy interior color.
